Summer Yoga Classes at the Galiano Inn with Alisoun Payne
We are happy to have Alisoun available for teaching private yoga sessions at the Galiano Inn. She is away for the month of September but will be back Oct.ober 1st.
Private sessions should be booked ahead and can be for either Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Sessions are 80 minutes in length.

When booking you can choose between the following three kinds of classes:
Fusion Yoga
Classical Ashtanga, Hatha or Vinyasa Yoga classes available, or a mix of all three. Poses, breath and focus merge to form "triputi" the goal of all yoga, for a complete warm up, integration, toning and rejuvenation of the body and its energy systems in a fluid format.
Breath Energetics
This class borrows from the Chinese martial art Chien Lung Kung Fu, employing exercises akin to Chi Gung to reinforce and deepen your understanding of the energetic and breath components of your yoga practice. Classes will work towards providing you with a complete practice of dynamic standing breath work, as well as specific exercises for energy cultivation and toning of the energetic anatomy.
Stretch and Strength
This stretch and strength class uses core strengthening techniques drawn from Pilates, dance and fitness systems and specific-focus muscle training, as well as deep yogic stretching to form a complete body workout. An innovative and completely engaging workout, the intensity can be modulated to fit your needs and desires.

80 minutes $30 each (group of 3 or more) private instruction
Alisoun Payne
Alisoun Payne has been studying and practicing movement and body-mind (somatic ) arts for 30 years; originally a contemporary and aerial dancer and a martial artist, her interest in somatic (body-mind) movement began in 1989 when she experience a major back injury. As part of her healing and re-education process, she has practised yoga, core and release work and held a personal practice of energy work, breathing and meditation for many years. She did her classical Hatha and Ashtanga yoga teacher training at the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga in order to be able to share the profoundly transformative alternative healing and somatic information she has been exposed to over the past 20 years. She borrows from many disciplines in order to facilitate for you greater freedom and self-empowerment in your own journey and offers techniques to enrich your life, restore health and encourage balance in your practice.
