Venturi Schulze Wine Adventure Sunday July 29

Brian Storen has been an ambassador of Venturi Schulze wines for well over a decade.

We are delighted that he will be joining us and pouring what many believe to be some of the best wines in the province.

All the wines are 100% estate grown in the Cowichan Valley on Vancouver Island. Intensive hand weeding, shoot, fruit and leaf thinning and harvesting. No herbicides or pesticides. Naturally pure, clean and unique defines the style of Venturi Schulze wines.

Brian will also be in our dining room on Sunday evening answering questions and offering insight into food and wine pairing. Experience the wisdom and magic of one of the top Sommeliers in the country.

Art in the Gardens of the Galiano Inn August 5th

A very special afternoon, in the gardens of the Galiano Oceanfront Inn & Spa

Experience how artists draw inspiration from the landscape, from nature, from the gardens we create, to create paintings, jewelry, fabrics, sculpture, pottery, and more.

Enjoy the art of 25 artists, while relaxing in the beauty of the Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa’s “Flores del Iris Gardens” All items available for purchase.

Artists will be in attendance.

You can be part of it...a Portrait artist will be doing portraits

Refreshments will be served, using fresh ingredients from the Inn’s own gardens.

Admission is free.

Galiano Island International Wine Festival August 11th

It’s a fun event for a worthwhile cause – to raise the money needed to keep the Galiano Island Health Care Centre up-to-date and serving the community.

When you stay at the Inn, you can enjoy a lovely 20 minute walk to the Festival, at a nearby park.

The Galiano Festival is informal, and it’s fun. It’s an open-air event, a wonderful way to spend a summer afternoon. There’s room to move around, no long waits for the wines you want to taste, plenty of time to talk with the wine merchants and wine makers.

Many of the artisan British Columbia wines offered for sampling are available at Vintages Specialty Wines, right in the lobby of the Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa.

If you wish to attend, just ask us to reserve tickets for you, and we will have them available upon your arrival on the Island. The price of entrance is just $30 per person and includes unlimited tasting, a crested Riedel crystal wine glass, fresh-made finger food.

Also part of the Festival experience is a Silent Auction and a Raffle of good things from the Island…you could win a special experience at the Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa, as we always donate to this wonderful cause.

Brad Prevedoros Guitar Magic at the Inn August 11th

Brad Prevedoros plays with the passion of candlelight. His solo guitar technique and understated execution conjure-up magic.

His recordings showcase his unique melding of jazz, Celtic-folk, pop, and classical influences.

A favourite on the B.C. club and concert scene, Brad's solo performances have drawn raves from audiences around the world.

Brad will be playing during dinner, from 6:30 to 9:30, in Atrevida Restaurant, after the wine festival. Brad’s CD’s are available for sale in the Inn, and you can enjoy his music throughout your stay, as copies are available in each guest room at the Inn.

Vertical Wine Consultings visits to Vintages Wine Shop August 12th

Steven and Tara Wilson of Vertical Wne Consulting will be in our wine store on Sunday August the 12, the day after the Galiano Island International Wine Festival. This will be an exciting afternoon with complimentary tastings from Joie, Kettle Valley and Fairview Cellars. Steven is a standing member of the International Sommelier Guild and possesses a wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm for all things wine.

Alderlea Wines: a wine-tasting of truly hand-crafted wines August 19

Join us in the Cellar of Vintages Specialty Wine Shop at the Galiano Inn.... for a very special wine-tasting of Alderlea wines on a sunny summer Sunday, August 19.

Roger and Nancy Dosman operate Alderlea Vineyards near Duncan on the slopes above Quamichan Lake in the Cowichan Valley. Established in 1992, winemaker Roger is dedicated to growing high quality grapes and producing 100% estate grown wines. All products are made from the vineyard's grapes, including superb white wines, red wines and ports.

Quality white wine varieties include Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Pinot Auxerrois and Bacchus, and a dark full-bodied red Clarinet, made from 100% Marechal Foch grapes. Alderlea Vineyard also produces a powerfully aromatic white blend.

Michael Garret with Orofino and Pentage

Michael is the wine agent for Orofino and Pentage wines. He resides on Mayne Island and will be joining us in our wine store and in the dining room the same evening

is a newer winery in the Similkameem Valleythat is winning accolades and awards with every vintage. Very limited production defines this boutique winery.

Pentage is located in Okanagan Falls in the Southern Okanagan Valley. Pentage produces wines of depth, complexity and always show true varietal character.
