The Gardens
The beauty of a garden, set in the natural beauty of an island.... could anything be more perfect, more satisfying, more memorable.
Our Flores del Iris Gardens are sleeping now...but like Galiano, it is still lush and green.
A rare dusting of snow may capture the garden gate and fountain...but while the snow we receive is fleeting, we will re-create that feeling, with Christmas lights and trees...come visit and enjoy it during the Holiday Season.
A Garden that is Yours to Discover
The Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa has many hidden treasures to discover. A secret garden behind the Inn, replete with streams and waterfalls, ponds and garden plantings to discover. Places just to sit, to contemplate, at dawn or at dusk. As special in winter as it is in summer...

Art in the Gardens
A very special afternoon is held in the gardens of the Galiano Oceanfront Inn & Spa every summer, a popular event that draws hundreds of art lovers.
Gardening as Art ... food for the body ... and the spirit
Even in the winter, plants flourish here... and while some our herb garden for the chef is at rest now, they have the warmth of Christmas lights.
And the best way to connect with nature... a relaxing massage in the warmth of the cedar garden cottage, with the sounds of the waterfall outside your door.
Take time for yourself to just 'be'.
Gardening with care for the ecology at its heart
Blessed with a Mediterranean like micro-climate, the Inn gardens feature natural plantings that weather the dry conditions of a hot island summer.
But diligent and extensive water conservation methods have also helped create a garden that nurtures many plants and flowers otherwise unknown in this area.
Here nature reigns supreme, with decks and fences built around tree limbs and trunks to leave them undisturbed. Just as you would want it.
The Inn owners requested that the Islands Trust place a covenant on the trees on the property: giant California Sequoia, London Plane, and Locus that were all planted soon after the turn of the last century by the English family that began the first garden.
Yoga and Meditation in the Garden Room
In the cooler months, yoga instruction moves indoors, to our beautiful Garden Room, with glass doors circling the Gardens of the Inn.
