Galiano Weather

Galiano Island enjoys a uniquely mild and temperate climate. That is why we are known as "British Columbia's West Coast, Canada's Mediterranean".

For current Galiano weather, visit the Southern Gulf Islands weather website.

Of all of the Gulf Islands, Galiano is said to have the best weather, and the southern part of Galiano (where the Galiano Oceanfront Inn and Spa is situated), enjoys a particularly unique micro-climate with more sun and less rain.

With its location sheltered between Vancouver Island and the coastal mountains on the mainland, and with the combination of ocean currents and weather patterns, Galiano is the driest of the islands: less than 26 inches of rain annually.

Whether it is our sunny dry summers with lots of beach time that appeal to you, or autumn's crisp, clear days with breathtaking views and panoramas, perhaps the fresh crisp air of spring with its emerging new life, or the blustery winter days beside the fireplace....

Galiano's weather is mild year round and the island and resort activities are enjoyable year round.
